Soya Chunks Tikki

It is basically made from soya chunks, chickpea and takes a little time to prepare. It can taken as a food in three different ways- it can taken like a cutlet with tea but it is not fried, its baked, you can take it with rice and dal, it can be used to make kopta curry. It is a vegetarian food dish but you can add onions if you want.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup of soaked chickpeas.
  2. 1 cup of soaked soya chunks.
  3. 1 tablespoon of grounded rice.
  4. 6 to 10 pieces of green chili.
  5. Pinch of baking soda.
  6. 10 tablespoons of soyabean oil.
  7. Salt to taste.


Procedure:
  1. Ground the chickpeas and make a paste of them.
  2. Ground the soya chunks too but don't ground them too much(don't make a paste of the soya chunks).
  3. Now take a bowl and put both of the chickpeas(grounded) and soya chunks(grounded) in it. Put the grounded rice, baking soda, green chilies, salt in the bowl.
  4. Now mix the batter properly, try to keep it dry like making dough out of flour.
  5. Knead the batter in small chunks and flatten it a little bit.
  6. Pour a little oil(2 to 4 tablespoons) in pan, fry the chunks over medium flame for sometime.
  7. After sometime turn the chunks upside down and fry the other side of the chunks.
  8. When it is fried properly take the chunks in a different plate and serve it in the way you want it.



Things to keep in mind:

  • You should soak the chickpeas for at least 4 hrs.
  • You should fry the batter in little oil.
