Malpua



Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1½ cups of flour(maida)
  • 1 cup of semolina(sooji)
  • 2 cups of oil
  • 2 pcs of bananas
  • 1 tsp of grated fennel seeds(mouri)
  • ½ tsp of grated black pepper seeds(gol morich)
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ tsp of edible soda
  • 4 cups of water

Procedure:

Sugar Syrup:

  1. In non stick pan, add 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water and heat the solution for 10 to 12 mins to make the sugar syrup.
Things to keep in mind:
    • Don't make the sugar syrup too thin or too thick.

Malpua:

  1. Take a bowl, add semolina(sooji), flour(maida), peeled bananas, edible soda, grated fennel seeds(mouri), grated black pepper seeds(gol morich),salt.
  2. Mix this items properly to make a batter(Don't make the batter too thick or too thin, make it in way so that you can pour it like the batter of dosa)
  3. In a frying pan heat the oil for some time, then turn the burner to sim, and pour some of the batter in the oil to make one piece and fry for sometime by altering the flame time to time. 
  4. Again pour some batter and repeat the process of frying again to make some more pieces of malpua.
  5. Now dip the fried malpua in sugar syrup solution for 1 hr.
  6. You can eat it hot or let it cool down and eat it, its up to you.
