Chicken Curry



Ingredients:

  • 600g of Country Chicken
  • 6 cups of water
  • 2 medium sized sliced potatoes
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp of grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp of grated garlic
  • 1 tbsp of red chili powder
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of grated coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp of grated cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp of grated black pepper seeds
  • 2 pcs of cardamom
  • 4 pcs of clove
  • 1 small piece of cinnamon
  • 2 pcs of Bay leaves
  • ½ pc of lime
  • 8 tbsp of oil
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

  1. Wash the chicken properly and put it in a bowl.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of oil, ½ turmeric powder, ½ salt, ½ lime juice, ½ tbsp of red chili powder to the bowl and mix all of the items with chicken properly, leave this mixture for ½  hr to marinate.
  3. In a blender, blend the cardamom, clove, cinnamon to make garam masala.
  4. Take a frying pan, add 6 tbsp of oil to the frying pan, heat the oil for sometime, add bay leaves to the oil and fry the leaves for sometime.
  5. Now remove the bay leaves from the frying pan, add potatoes, onions to the pan and fry them for 15 mins by altering the flame.(dont leave the flame too high or too low, just turn the flame high for sometime and then turn the flame low, keep repeating this process for 15 mins)
  6. Take the grated ginger, garlic, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder in bowl and mix all of items together properly.
  7. After 15 mins, take the mixture and add it to the frying pan in which the potatoes and are being fried. Now fry this mixture for 5 mins.
  8. Finally add the marinated chicken pieces to the frying pan, then cover the pan with a lid. 
  9. Cook the chicken on medium to low flame till it is cooked. Stir in between. Repeat this process for ½ hr. 
  10. After ½ hr, when a good smell is released from the pan, add 6 cups of water to the pan, boil this mixture for ½ hr over low flame.
  11. After boiling this mixture for ½ hr, turn the flame high and cook the chicken curry for 5 mins.
  12. Pour chicken curry in bowl and add garam masala to the chicken curry for a good smell.
  13. Serve it hot.
